2 Card Games That Make Great Gifts!

Dutch Blitz

This card game was invented by a German immigrant in Pennsylvania Dutch country.

2-4 players

4 decks of 40 cards (each of the four decks has a different design: pump, carriage, pail and plow.)

Game Length: 15 - 25 minutes

This game is kinda like Spit and Solitaire. It is very fast past and exciting. Players start with 3 cards in a post pile and 10 cards in their blitz pile. The deck of cards left in the players hand is called the wood pile. The object of the game is to play cards in color sequence (1-10) in ascending order on the dutch piles in the middle of the playing area. The first player to run out of cards in their blitz pile calls BLITZ! The hand ends and the other players count the remaining cards in their blitz pile and multiply by 2. The remaining blitz pile cards count as negative points against the player. The cards in the dutch piles are shuffled out to each player and counted as 1 positive point per card and added to the score sheet. A new hand is dealt and rounds continue until a player reaches 75 points.

Zombie Fluxx

2-8 players

Game length: 10-30 minutes

The original award winning Fluxx game has been taken over by zombies!

Object of the game: Game play starts with the basic rule of draw one card play one card. As new rule cards are played the game changes. Players lay down keeper cards in order to complete a goal. If a player completes the goal they win. However players are continually attacked by zombies (creeper cards) which either help or hinder their chances of completing the goal. The zombies must be destroyed with sweet weapons keepers like the chainsaw, baseball bat, flamethrower, and shotguns!

This game takes a little bit of time to understand because the rules are constantly changing, but its also very easy to know the rules because they are right in front of you on the table. But overall this is a very fun card game as is the original Fluxx.
